Apartment Review for Whitesell House Apartments - Dayton, OH

This was a terrible experience from day one. On the move-in day, the apartment wasn't ready, but the management never told me. I left my apartment in Columbus, had all my belongings in a u-haul, and had nowhere to put them. The management was "kind" enough to put me in a temporary apartment in another community for three days, so I unpacked the u-haul only to have to rent one again to move into my actual apartment three days later. No compensation, no apology. The units are in terrible condition. I called maintenance over a dozen times to come out to fix my leaking toilet. They came out one time only to make the leaking worse. My refrigerator stopped working, and after several calls to the management for service requests, no one came. I was without a refrigerator for three months. The management is rude and unhelpful. I was out of town for a week, and when I came back, my toilet was turned off. I called the office about it, and the GENERAL MANAGER of the property said she came in my unit and turned it off. She said it was leaking into the downstairs unit. Apparently my first 12 phone calls about that didn't inform her of the issue. The community is not safe. There are always people fighting and people being busted for drugs. One of my girl friends was jumped by a man as she was leaving my apartment once. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMMUNITY AND THIS COMPANY.
