Apartment Review for The Knolls Apartments - Dayton, OH

My fiance and I have lived at the Knolls for over 4 years and every year the maintance gets worse. We have only stayed this long because of the price and the two car garge for our cars, I would rather pay more. I can't wait to get out of here! We had a clogged toilet for 8 months and I was told each time that I called that it was not a prority because we had another toilet!! Finally, my fiance had to fix it with some advice from his Dad who is a handy man. Our dryer vent was clogged for 6 months, you could see daylight all around the doors and a lot of air goes out as a result for 2 years. Our garbage disposal was broken for a month and leaking, our ceiling leaks when we take showers and so we have to put a pot down when that happens, and our back door leaks and lets water saturate the carpet when it rains. Our neighbor has a whole in his utlility closet from when the maintance staff did come and they made the whole while fixing something else that is so large that he can see into the apartment next to him. Our door knobs have just fallen off from simply opening the doors 3 times. Our bathroom door didn't close all the way for 2 years. The vent in the bathroom broke and apparently it takes 6 months to order a new one. The trash is over flowing on a regular basis and I took a photo of the mold on our bathroom ceiling and the trash problem and sent them to corporate. They blamed me because I didn't call them earlier and let them know what was going on!!! Corporate then presented us with a generous offer to stay for another year of $50.00 off ONE months rent and free blindes!! For the record, I have called corporate every year for the past 4 years and they have done VERY little about the problems. They do fix the most pressing matter after calling corporate, but you are pretty much on your own for the rest of the year, but sometimes God smiles on you and they actually do come to fix what you called about. There also broken down cars in the parking lot that the say they are going to tow away immediately and it takes 6 months to a year! They send around notices about not parking in front of the garges because of other people have trouble getting their cars into their garges like my fiance and I who actually use our garge for our cars and of course nothing is ever done about it.
