Apartment Review for Northland Village Apartments - Dayton, OH

The same rule applies anywhere you live and that is, "It's not where you live, it's how you live". I have lived here in Northland for five years and has witnessed a lot of violence but I had always decided not to subject my level of standards to what the level of behavior around me. There's violence everywhere you go, in most cases it hidden or "protected" to uphold an image in the neighborhood. You must realize that this is an income based living community and the circumstances of SOME of the residents are no better than the media reflects on Northland. We have people that has come from good up-bringing and some that brought themselves up. There's a multi-complex in ethnic backgrounds and morally some of trhese people has lived with the attitude of self-worthlessness all their lives. So no matter what you may say about Northland Village, I can say one good thing about it if nothing else. I can say, I have my own and it's my responsibility to take care of it and protect the well-being of my offspring that dwels inside my residence. It's some of the people that lives here that makes it seem so bad but forreal, there's a lot of good people here also that makes it comfortable for those that appreciate living with a roof over their heads. You just don't hear about the good that breaths in this neighborhood but take my word for it, there's a lot of it. You have the most talented children that live but noone to believe in them. You have parents that keep the level opf violence down and that's not talked about. You have some children that even offer you a hug and says they love you, that gets some of us through our difficult days, and that's not talked about either. In closing and I can go on, this neighborhood is here for reason(s) that the public fails to realize and that is,"if these people weren't here, where would they be"? So please stop judging and know that everything is not good in this world and that the picture is bigger than Northland Village Apartments. I wish I could move today and provide better for my children but right now to be a full-time parent and invest in my children is my top priority right now. Where I live to do that does nopt matter right now but I do my job in protecting my children and opening their minds to the WHOLE picture and not just what they see when they step outside the door or see out of the window. One day we'll be able to come back to this community and help others that wants a chance to change, grow and move ahead in life. God has a strange way of getting our attention and maybe this is a apart of that process for some of us to grow closer to our higher power. So the next time you think Northland Village apartments, think of us as human-beings also and that we're just trying to get it together for the most part of it all. Judge those that put themselves out there to be judged by those that want s to be judgers, not the whole community.
